Have you ever got so carried away with a thought like a fear of doing something and what the negative repercussions would be that you end up creating an image in your mind? That image then becomes so powerful that you start to have a physical reaction to it.  Your heart starts racing, you’re having palpitations, you feel light headed or worse, your heads going to spin off out of control and all you can do to stop it is to curl up into a ball screaming stop! stop! stop!!!

Yes?… me too.  Take comfort though as this is a great example of how powerful your imagination is.

If you can imagine yourself doing something really scary with a negative outcome and it has a physical reaction on your body then so too can you imagine a positive image and produce wonderful positive feelings in your body that will help inspire, motivate and build your confidence.

Granted it will take a little practice but it wont be as hard as you imagined!

I’m not telling you anything new here really this kind of thinking has been in practice for hundreds of years.  A famous quote from Budha reveals this,  “All that we are is a result of what we have thought.”

What about the Olympics last year?  I’m sure you couldn’t get through one week without hearing athletes and sports personalities talking of the benefits of PMA, positive mental attitude!  Sports people are well known for positive visualisation exercises they practice as a crucial part of their training.

So how can you change those negative thoughts that are holding you back and sending you running scared?  Hypno-psychotherapy and life coaching did it for me. So much so that I was inspired to leave a well paid job and train as a hypno-psychotherapist and a life coach.  The lives of many of my  clients have been transformed and they now live the life they choose and not from being held back by fear.

So watch what you think as negative thoughts can become a habit that spiral out of control.

If you would like to take back control of your thoughts and need some help then do give me a call on 0208 546 8460 or email me at

I also have a special offer of a free one hour face to face session or telephone/Skype session with me, how’s that for a positive first step?

I’d like to leave you with a wonderful quote from Margaret Thatcher which I heard when I was watching the fabulous film over Christmas called “The Iron Lady” (Meryl Streep was absolutely amazing).

Here it is,  stay focused and don’t entertain doubt.

“Watch your thoughts for they become words. Watch your words for they become actions. Watch your actions for they become habits. Watch your habits for they become your character. And watch your character for it becomes your destiny! What we think we become.”                             Margaret Thatcher
